Star Wars Intro in CSS

  • Star Wars Intro CSS

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....

It was the week of the premiere for the latest Star Wars Movie- The Rise of Skywalker. As a huge Star Wars fan, I obviously couldn't wait to see it. I decided to use that excitement and passion to practice my CSS skills by recreating the famous opening scroll for Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

This was my first time really trying to create something so specific with CSS and also using CSS animations. It was definitely frustrating at times trying to make it suitable to my standards, but I'm proud of what I was able to create.

For my next updates to this, I plan on making it responsive to different screen sizes. I made it accordinging to my desktop window size, so if you are viewing it in a different sized window it may not look the same as the demo video. I would also love to add the background intro music to it!

Note: The animation you see to the right is a GIF instead of the actual demo video in order to abide by Github's upload limits. Because of this it might seem "glitchy", but that is not true to the actual product. You can watch the actual demo video on my LinkedIn here or view it at the live site listed below.
